How much will it hurt me that my
MATH/CR reading scores are just above a 700 but my writing score is a 560(10 essay) i know most colleges dont look at SAT writing but still... I want to go to a top university, i know cornell and G town dont look at SAT writing but does anyone know any others?

Your Math/CR would put you slightly above the 25th percentile at most top places. I think most top schools look at SAT writing, but you can search “[school] common data set” and then look at section C8, part C. The question is “Please indicate how your institution will use the SAT or ACT writing component; check all that apply”, so you can see how they answer. As an example, this is the one for penn: http://www.upenn.edu/ir/Common%20Data%20Set/UPenn%20Common%20Data%20Set%202013-14.pdf

You probably want to retake to boost those scores unless your GPA/ec’s are terrific.

thanks so much. wow i am amazed i never saw this!
