Help searching for a college

I’m currently a junior living in Illinois.
UW GPA is around a 3.85 and W GPA is a 4.63.
My ACT score is 32.
I took 4 APs this year and am taking 6 APs next year. I also am taking 4 years of Spanish

I plan to major in Chemistry or Biology, maybe a minor in spanish and then go to Med school.
I would probably prefer a smaller school (LACs/Private Universities).
Cost is not really an issue but obviously merit scholarships will help.
I’d prefer to either stay in the Midwest or East coast.
I’d like a more chill environment with the chance to work with other students but I still want a very competitive school.

What are some schools that I should be looking at?

You seem like you’d a good fit for Bates, Grinnell, Carleton, Hamilton, Kenyon, Colby . . .

I also forgot to say that I would prefer a big city over a rural campus.

URichmond is a good LAC in a pretty big city.
Hard to find non-rural small schools IMO.

Catholic colleges ranging from 4,000-8,000 students might be worth a look. A few in the midwest are St Louis U, Creighton, Marquette, DePaul, Xavier, and Dayton. All are in cities, all offer merit (with your stats I’d anticipate an annual cost of $34,000-$40,000/year, perhaps less). I don’t know the strength of the pre-med programs at each, but your GC might.

You might like Macalester, Haverford, and Union (although Schenectady might not be the kind of city you want!)

Reach: Tufts, Haverford, Barnard (if you’re female)
Match: Macalester, Brandeis

Carleton was the first school that came to mind when I read your description. It’s definitely more rural though (but not far from the Twin Cities).
