Help - Should I be worried about being accused of cheating on AP exam?

I took a digital AP exam this year, and for the free response section I include definitions that I studied. These included both definitions from the book and definitions I studied online because I understood them better. I am worried that because some of my definitions that I studied were from online sources, I will be flagged for plagiarism and have my score cancelled. I also skipped around a bit and take tests quickly, which I feel is also damming. I did not cheat, so should I be worried about this? What could I do if this happens?

I highly doubt it

Did you memorize the online definitions word for word? I don’t know that AP exams do plagiarism checks. I would talk to your guidance counselor so you tell them first. But doubt it will be a problem. Still it would be good to tell someone.

I did not memorize them word-for-word, I paraphrased when I was making my flashcards but they were still pretty similar. Thank you for the suggestion, I’ll email my counselor and see what she says.

You’ll be fine. AP Exams this year for online testers were open-book/open-notes just like last year. The most common AP exam that gets flagged for plagiarism is AP research, which you have to submit a research paper.

You don’t need to email your counselor.

Technically, no they weren’t.

I find it interesting that you were able to “skip around” questions - my son took 2 digital AP exams and going back in forth between questions was disallowed by the program. Once you had answered you could not go back.

I thought College Board said last month on Twitter that the digital AP exams are not open-book/note?

I meant on the FRQ! It was not possible to skip around on the multiple choice, but on each FRQ question I saved the hardest terms for last.

Hmm. All my teachers and counselors said that it was unless you were online testing in school. I still think that OP should be fine.

My teachers told me it was the same as last year, sorry that was a misinformation on my part. You should be fine.

Think this one through. Open books would be OK for testing at home, but not online at school? Umm, no. Admittedly, since camera were not required, the CB could prove nothing. But that is why the questions were designed not to be simply answered bus notes.

Yeah, I see the flawed logic now.

Highly unlikely, and certainly not worth stressing over unless you have some notification that alerts you to an issue. Learning something outside of class and using it isn’t plagiarism.
