I’m a senior at a very competitive high school in Massachusetts (99.5th percentile in the country). I took the SAT in May and scored a 2160 (620 CR, 740 M, 800 W). I also took the SAT this October, hoping to improve my math and critical reading scores to boost my superscore to least 2200, if not 2250. I have a 3.52 GPA, which is very respectable at my high school but stacks up as average compared to the rest of the country. The October scores were delayed for my test center, and I have the option to finally view my scores tomorrow, OR I can opt to retake the “October” SAT in November (the delay/option to retake are a result of a disruption at the test center). I do not think I did particularly well on the CR section pf the October test (specifically know I got at least 7 questions incorrect) and I know I got at least one math question incorrect, which is not a great indication that I improved the 740. So, should I sign off tomorrow to agree that I do not want to retake, risking that I did not improve my score? Or do I retake the test?
I’m applying to BC, NYU, UMass Amherst, UW Madison, and George Washington U, and may apply to other schools depending on my score.
Thank you!
