<p>i applied to Skidmore early decision and I'm wondering what my chances of getting in are? I'm black, senior, my gpa is 3.1, and my sat was 1790. I interned for a politician, and I have lots of awards for writing. I also went to a summer program held on the Skidmore campus my junior year, for the young writers institute. What do you think? Please let me know. I'm stressing out about this.</p>

<p>I’m sure you’ve already researched this, but the SAT range for the middle 50% of accepted students is 1700-2040 and the GPA was 3.42-3.71 in years past. I think it may have been quite a bit higher, like 3.7 or 3.8 last year… My D applied to Skidmore RD with a 3.5 and 2100 SAT and she did not get in. However, she is white and did not intern for a politician.</p>
<p>That said, Skidmore states that it uses a holistic admissions process, so hopefully they will put a lot of emphasis on your internship and awards. Did you interview?</p>
<p>My sense is that you have a chance but it’s a reach. I hope you’ve also applied RD to some match schools you’ll love to go to :)</p>
