The May 1st deadline is just a couple weeks away and I'm completely torn between University of Maryland and Syracuse. I was admitted to the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse and the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at Maryland (and also the Scholars program there). I know Syracuse is extremely cold but it has a great journalism program. On the other hand, Maryland is just around the corner from Washington DC.

Please provide opinions/pros and cons. Any insight is appreciated!!

They are both top 5 journalism programs in the nation. I just visited umd, and loved it. They have brand new facilities, and excellent connections. I had a very interesting experience with 'cuse’s admissions process and should be in the same situation with as you, but i’m not so, I would go to maryland, but then again if I had your choice I would go to syracuse : )

I am interested in both of those schools, but I am a junior this year (so will apply next year). Do you mind telling me your stats so I can compare? thanks

I go to cuse and literally the only bad thing is the weather. But to be honest it’s not even that bad. I mean yes the weather sucks, but everyones friends with everyone because we all just chill inside and play games, watch t.v. or just chill. And when it gets nice out everyones outside, literally everyone.
