I was originally going to take the SAT I Reasoning test on May 6, but didn't feel ready due to AP exams, missed it and rescheduled the next Monday for June 3. The representative told me I needed to bring my May admission ticket and a $20 check for a the test date change fee. He told me I would be able to test at the center I mentioned to him, even though it was booked, as long as I provided these.

I was ready to proceed today with printing my admission ticket until I logged on and found that it was removed. I called customer service again and this time the representative told me that I would be a "walk-in", gave me a new registration number, and told me I wouldn't need to bring any check-- but also warned that I wouldn't be guaranteed a seat (at any center).

So is it correct that even if you change your test date (and center) you aren't guaranteed a test? do I have the same chances as a standby tester? And is what this second representative told me the case? Please help.
