Hey. I am an international student and applying to over 5 schools. If I were to pay the application fees, it will genuinely be a huge financial burden for my family.

I know it's pretty late but.. can I submit my fee waiver request today to the individual colleges admissions e-mail?

If it isnt granted, will I still be able to pay after the deadline? (about Jan 1)

For now, I will indicate in CommonApps Payment section as Other Fee Waiver Request to send the application. Is it okay?

This is also discussed in the international student thread. Each college has its own process. You can request a waiver and it is up to that college to give you one or not. If they do not grant you a waiver then you will be expected to pay the application fee in a short period of time or they could reject your application. Each college makes this decision on their own, so we can’t give more advice than that without knowing your colleges. Some colleges to grant waivers to internationals, and some do not. In the US, they recommend that a student request fee waivers to no more than 4 colleges, but I’m not sure how that works for internationals.
