<p>Hey so im a senior about to go to college and i need some feedback on where to go. i deposited two schools, UW Madison and Oxford at emory and i wanted to know what people think of where i should go. please help! thanks</p>
<p>I am disgusted by your decision to pay deposit to both schools. It is very dishonest and unfair for others who truly want to attend the school. Considering it is 18 days after the May 1st deadline, no one in here should even bother to help you. It is unfortunate that schools does not weigh ethics/morals more in the admission decisions.</p>
<p>Oxford College was rolling, so you took away a spot in our Emory Class of 2014. Oxford is very different from UW-Madison and the only reason they take over 50% of the applicants is that it is the only way to fill up their spots. Oxford exists to help those who can grow in its unique environment with an Emory education. But you are probably one of those people who decided to use Oxford as a backdoor because it’s “Emory.” Who the hell still is wondering about choosing between a university in an urban setting with over 30,000 undergrads vs a two-year LAC in middle of nowhere past May 1st?</p>
<p>So how about you go to UW-Madison? We don’t want people like you as part of our class. Oxford is already bad enough admitting tons of backdoorers like you every year.</p>
<p>Not only that, but this can get you rescinded from both schools.</p>
<p>Wow DanaEffinWhite can that really get you rescinded from both schools? I payed my deposit to Oxford because i was actually was planning on going there. After waiting for almost a month i finally got my financial aid award (issues w/ files being lost at the emory campus, filing issue on my parents tax etc.) out of the estimated cost of about $40,000 i got about $9,000 in grants/loans, my parents really cant afford/ i don’t want to deal with big debt after college. Earlier in the month i found out i got of the waiting list for another school that cost much less so i payed the deposit on the deadline this week. so technically i payed deposit to two schools…</p>

<p>If you deposited at Oxford by the May 1st deadline, but later deposited at the school that you got waitlisted from, then that’s a special case. It’s OKAY to reject admission to go to a waitlist school, but not the other way around.</p>
<p>If you still decide to go to Oxford, which seems unlikely as you can’t pay for it, then tell them you’re going to a school that took you off the waitlist and you should be fine. If you choose to go to Oxford anyway then there’s gonna be some problems.</p>

<p>I suggest not telling any of the schools a lot of details. Once you choose a school, just tell the other school that you won’t be going there. (they won’t ask details, and if they do, just tell them that you have other plans for the future, HOW ARE THEY GOING TO KNOW?)</p>
