HELP: Were all LMU applicants supposed to get a decision by now?

Well, today is 4/2, the date AFTER they said all decisions would be posted (did I get that right?).
NO decision has come my way!
Suggestions, anyone???
Should I call, email, wait???
If there are others who have not yet heard, then I'll know the process is still going on.
THANKS!

I applied as a transfer, MyPAW still says currently under review. Admissions is on Spring Break and will not resume to send out decisions till 4/5. Admissions has had all they needed from me since 3/2, but they can take through April to make final decisions on transfer apps. Did you apply as a transfer?

I’m an incoming freshman… I cannot believe that Admissions is out on break during this time!!!

They also mailed out decisions yesterday. Chill out

Okay, I’ll chill…!
I thought that if they make a decision, it is indicated when you log in to your web portal thing??? If so, then no decision made yet for me. I think everyone will be closed today for Good Friday, so no point in making a call… will have to put it aside and enjoy the weekend as I would think this is the last weekend I’d have to be waiting???

I’m still waiting as well. Nothing in the mail…no change in MyPAW…

Well, now I know that they are still working on decisions so maybe by next Friday or even Saturday, 4/10, I’ll get a decision so I can attend Preview Day for Admitted Students on 4/11. Don’t know where you are located - we are only about an hour-and-a-half or less from the campus, so we can still go even if we find out the day prior.

Don’t rely on mypaw for a notice, you guys will get your notice in the mail as soon as they mail it out…they say all decisions are mailed out before AND ON april 1st.

Thanks, speakbraille, for all your input.
While I was counting on 4/1 to be D-Day, I am wondering if things are just taking longer because they didn’t anticipate so many applicants this year???
Not just at LMU, but at many universities as that seems to be the case.
Good to know that the MyPAW thing isn’t necessarily “words to live by”!
So, maybe my decision is now in the hands of the US Postal Service (or whichever carrier they use - I heard that some Chapman applicants received their decisions via Fed Ex).

I also want to confirm what ‘speakbraille’ said. My daughter got her acceptance letter on Saturday the 27th but her MyPAW didn’t change from ‘under review’ to accepted till Wednesday the 31st!

Update: I received a very thin envelope in today’s mail… I got WAITLISTED.

Same here, 101233. Waitlisted. I received my letter today, even though it was dated March 26th.

Same with me, letter dated 3/26… it was postmarked 3/31 and I received it yesterday, 4/2 (but I’m in So. Cal so maybe it got to me a day earlier than you, depending on where you are located).
Now begins the waitlist “strategy”, not even knowing if there is a chance in hell…

I guess I’m a bit confused by the waitlist option at any school. My daughter was waitlisted at another school and was told she would know by late May or June. So if you choose another school in the meantime and put down a deposit, do you lose it if your waitlist school tells you you’re in? Seems kind of crazy to wait for a waitlist school if that’s the case.

YES, you got it right! You have to pay your deposit to another school by 5/1. That deposit is non-refundable. (You also may have housing deposits to pay, possibly refundable, you need to check.) Then you wait. Then, if you are fortunate (???) enough to get admitted off the waitlist, you have just a few days to decide, and probably do not get priority housing, and the financial aid picture won’t look too hot. I’m starting to think the whole thing is stupid and I should just “move on” to my next choice.

Makes me wonder how many students really do decide to take up the offer in late May or June if the situation changes. It’s a lot of money to lose and there are the hassles of less than desirable financial aid and housing which I hadn’t thought of.

The whole thing is insane!

I am waitlisted as well. I sent in my letter stating that I would go there if accepted but want to know if anyone called their admissions person to see what the statistics are like this year???

SBGIRL - they don’t have stats for this year because the process hasn’t happened yet! That’s the whole point of the waitlist: to ensure they fill their freshman class as they don’t know how many of
their admits will actually accept their offer of admission. Especially this year, it is a big unknown with largest applicant pool and do many kids applying to so many schools - it is anyone guess. You can call but they aren’t going to be able to tell you anything. What they do know is how many they waitlisted… Whether they will give you that info, I don’t know (but of they do, please let us know!!!). But even the number of waitlisters doesn’t really give an indication of the chance us waitlisters have at getting in because, inevitably, people will drop from the list. And even the stats from last year are really no indication because there was such a significant increase in applicants this year, across the board. So, we sit and wait! Be sure to make your deposit to another school in the interim!!! Good luck :-)

For anyone waiting for a transfer decision on this thread, get ready to wait longer! I called Admissions and they said the earliest you’d hear is LATE April because they JUST began looking at transfer apps!

But best of luck to everyone here!
