I need to immensely increase my SAT writing. I tried the blue-book, but it did not really help for my writing section of the SAT, so what other prep books should I buy.

For me, the BB was for practice, and I used Kaplan and Princeton for studying.

Use BB for the 10 tests.

I used this book for prep:
[Kaplan New SAT Writing Workbook: Kaplan: 9780743260336: Amazon.com: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Kaplan-New-SAT-Writing-Workbook/dp/0743260333/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1370379620&sr=8-9&keywords=kaplan+writing+sat)

And this thread for the essay:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/645763-how-write-12-essay-just-10-days.html

After prepping with Kaplan, take the tests in BB. Redo all the questions you got wrong and for those you don’t understand go on CC/internet and ask.

does kaplan have a comprehensive and detailed of the grammatical rules that are tested on the SAT. will it result in substantial score improvements?

also I heard about barrons and was wondering whether the writing section was actually helpful or not.

Comprehensive enough imo.
