Help with choosing colleges for biology major/future vet?

I’m a high school senior who lives in the Bay Area, and I’m debating on which schools I should be applying for. I’ve thought about some states as safety schools, but for UC’s, I’m still deciding.

I want to be a veterinarian in the future, meaning I would apply for an animal sciences/biology major. I know being a vet is really tough, so I’ve been thinking of other alternative occupations, but I generally think I want to be in the biology field. IF I were to get into UC Davis as well as UCLA, which one should I go to? I was thinking that if I could make it into Davis for undergrad as well as their vet school, I would be spending 8 years there, and I’m not sure I would get the whole “college experience” being in the same area for so long if that makes sense. I’ve always loved the environment of LA, but I’m not sure if my major fits in there?

For other UC’s, which of the following do you think that I should be prioritizing: UCSB, UCI, or UCSC?

Thanks!!

I wouldn’t worry about which picking a college until you have some acceptances under your belt. Playing the “what if” game will not help you and even if you get into UC Davis, there is no guarantee you will get into their vet school. Apply to any schools of interest and in the Spring when you have your decisions, then you can decide. I would add Cal Poly SLO and Pomona to your list if you intend to pursue Animal Science/Biology.

it is impossible to advise you without your qualifications, budget and interests.
