Help with college search

I'm a rising senior going to a top private school in the Mid-Atlantic region. I recently did Summer@Brown and absolutely loved Brown. My scores, however, are not on par with Brown so I was wondering what colleges are similar to Brown in atmosphere (the quirky, alternative, yet intellectual and activist) and also are near/in a city (similar to Providence or larger). I am interested in Theater (not BFA, BA because i'm both an actress and playwright) and i'm interested in Creative Writing. I'm considering Wesleyan and Tufts, but still am looking for more schools.

ACT: 27 (taking it again an most likely will be 30-31
GPA: my school doesn't calculate GPA, but i've never gotten below a B and my average would be B+/A-
Varsity Softball ( Freshmen and Sophomore, had to quit because of an injury)
ITS
Literary Magazine
Tutoring for underprivileged children
Musical (all four years) and our other two plays
Philosophy Club

AP US history: 5
AP Eng Lit: 4

This year i'm taking AP AB Calc and AP Latin Vergil (my school doesn't offer a lot of APs).

Help?

Take a look at Reed in Portland and Macalester in Minneapolis.

^ A 27 ACT is well below the 25%ile for Reed (a 30 is AT the 25%ile).

I would look at Lewis and Clark. What can your family afford?

So far, there are no restrictions to tuition…so that is not a problem. Also, my recent ACT practice tests have me well at a 30…but I guess i’ll have to wait and see…
