<p>OK i am a sophomore in high school i know im young etc. I was thinking about taking a year off of rowing to maybe experience some new parts of high school like speech and debate club and water polo, or other stuff. I have been rowing for 3 years now but i was wondering if i take this year off would it effect any scholarships i might be eligable for. I would row for my junior and senior year but would i really be effected if i take this year off?

<p>I don’t think it would effect your scholarship chances as long as your 2K time is still in the zone that they are looking for. My daughter is on a partial rowing scholarship at Philadelphia University and while she did row all four years (and was a captain) the determining factor in the amount of scholarship money she received was her 2K time.</p>
