Will being on my school's crew team all 4 years of high school (spring & fall seasons every year) help me get into college?

I do not plan on being a recruited athlete (I'm not THAT good) but was just wondering if mentioning rowing on my applications would be looked upon favorably at certain schools (harvard, where crew is a big deal)?

Thank you! Please share any experiences you have if you are a rower with colleges or just what you think!

If ALL else was equal, well, it’d be a better application than one without rowing on it… It certainly won’t hurt you.

well i do rowing and know someone who had 3.7 and got recruited to harvard. i know that doesn’t apply to you so i’m not sure if they care if you’re not recruited. it is a big time commitment though and i know they want to see accomplishments.

If you’re not recruited it’s just another extracurricular. Which is to say, it will help you but not significantly.
