Help with decision between two colleges!

I have to choose to deposit between Macaulay Honors CCNY or NYU because I have been waitlisted by Cooper Union, which I still hope to get accepted.
I wish to stay in the city so the locations both work.
If I do not get accepted into Cooper Union, which of the two colleges will be best for an education in chemical engineering?
Financially, Macaulay Honors provides free education, but NYU offered a pretty good scholarship, which still turned out to be quite the price per year.
CCNY has a great engineering school (the grove school of engineering) but I do not know much about NYU's engineering section (I did not apply for NYU Poly, but the College of Arts and Sciences for Chemical and Biomolecular engineering)

Are there any more information that can tip the scale for me?

Run the numbers here to see if NYU is as affordable as Macaulay: [FinAid | Calculators | Award Letter Comparison Tool](<a href=“Your Guide for College Financial Aid - Finaid”>Award Letter Requirements - Finaid)

If you want to know about where the Chem Eng graduates end up, it is perfectly OK to contact the Chem Eng department and the Career Center at each university. By and large an engineering degree is an engineering degree. Provided the program is accredited by ABET you are golden. You can safely choose the one that is most affordable for you.
