I'm currently in grade 10 at the moment, I attend the best independent school here in Vancouver, BC. So far, I am taking regular courses due to subject placements that occured in grade 8. Next year though, I will be able to take accelerated courses (which I plan on doing). I have extra-curricular activities outside of school, have been on several service trips internationally, and planning on applying for internships the summer of grade 11 in the business field. I'm also planning on possibly volunteering for World Vision/other charities when I visit the Philippines this summer/next summer. In the past, I have received first honour certificate; achieving a 95 average in grades 8-9 (I know that grade 8 and 9 is barely anything), but I believe that I maintained that this year and will continue working towards that until I graduate.

My course selections are due on April 16, but I am not sure what I need to take for my grade 11 year if I plan on going into business. (Preferably and hoping to attend UPenn/Wharton, but applying to other prestigious Canadian and US universities).. Which sciences should I take (we are required to take one in our grade 11 year)...

In my grade 12 year, I plan on taking AP Lang and Lit, AP Biology, Calculus (not sure if I'm taking AP or regular), AP World History, etc. Pleasee help! Your help is appreciated. :)

Sounds like you’re a very motivated kid, so as long as you’re willing to put in the effort, you’ll end up getting into great schools in the years to come. As for your course selection, Penn places a great emphasis on course rigor, so it’s important for you to take advantage of the course menu of your school. This doesn’t mean you should take every single AP offered in your school, but just make sure you take as many as you can of those that interest you and that you feel you can do well in.

honestly take the best classes that you can schools love to see effort even if it is not in all pas. but also max out on subjects you are interested in and do things outside of school that relate to what you are interested in. Like i have taken every spanish but Ap lit( At my school AP lang is harder and i do not prefer lit anyways, history but Ap Gov and Eco ( I decided to take APush instead and will take Ap Euro next year), I have learned to play every single bowed stringed instrument. I work at a camp during the summer volunteering to work with kids). Point is take things that you can manage and will do well in. I took honors in other subjects but it did not show my best work because i was not as interested in them. SO if you want to go into business take business related courses and second pick the courses that you can handle but not has interested in second. iN all honestly people say that to get into Upenn you have to take all the hardest classes at your school. this is true but in the sense of taking the classes that will be hard for you but also that you enjoy. For example if you have your heart set on business take all histories, social sciences math and what ever else you need but don’t sign up for an ap psych course just because it is an ap. so do what is reasonable for you and excel at that, Its better to have half advanced course and half regular courses and get a’s and b’s then to take all ap’s and get b’s and c’s
