<p>i've looked up the hotels within walking distance to NU and they're all fully booked! i'll be arriving on the 14th and hope to find a good hotel (4-5stars?) near the university. currently, hampton inn and suites (north shore) and Doubletree Hotel and Conference Center Chicago North Shore seem like the "nearest" options. any idea which is better or where else i can put up? i'll need to set up a bank acct, get bed sheets etc necessary stuff. btw, i'm an international student so i'm kinda lost at the moment. Thanks in advance!!</p>
<p>i don't know the hotels there. but another thing you can try is to call international office and see if they know any american family willing to host for 1 or 2 nights. i know there are american families that volunteer to do that. obviously, it's on first come, first serve basis. some of them can be so helpful that they may even take you to shop.</p>
<p>All of these are located within a few blocks of campus. I'm from the area however, I've never actually stayed in any of these. But they received great reviews online. Good luck!</p>
