In the writing portion of the SAT, I seem to get everything correct on improving sentences and the paragraph improvement section, but on the Identifying sentence errors, I end up being very prudent and cannot pull myself to pick choice E on some awkwardly sounding sentences.

Is there some technique that i can use because I usually only miss about 3 problems total and they are all in the identifying sentence errors section, usually the E ones.

i used to have the same problem, but then i just started to ignore the awkwardness and just look for grammatical errors.
look at each underlined word/section carefully and go through all possible grammar rules that relate to that word/section and if all make sense, then choose (E).
its pretty irritating at first, but [im sure you heard this 100 times before] with more practice you’ll get used to it. =]

You have to develop your ear. Start by forcing yourself to find the grammatical error (if none mark “e”). Only after many tests worth of doing this can you start to rely on instinct.
