Help With Reaches/Matches/Safeties

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me determine if some of the schools I’ve chosen are high/low reaches, matches, or safeties. Also please chance me for Carnegie Mellon ED at the Mellon College of Science!

GPA: 4.0 UW, 4.46 W
ACT: 35 (36,34,34,34)
New SAT: 1580 (790,790)
AP: 5’s on both bio and US government and politics
EC: student council executive board, yearbook editor, multiple service clubs, and I’ve also spent around 300 hours helping organize and run local dog shows
Awards: probably NMSF

Hey, I think your scores are spectacular, which would probably make the last five or six on the list matches or even safeties. The others will probably be reaches considering you EC’s. Try to increase them and get a few leadership positions. Also, try for more in the Awards/Honors Section.

UVA would not be a safety.

@theringoinfinite yeah, I didn’t think so either. Would you call it a match?

I’m just a rising senior, so I don’t feel it’s appropriate to share my thoughts on your chances. With that being said, I believe I know enough to say that UVA is not a safety for anyone who isn’t a VA resident.
