Help with senior year classes!!

At my schools we take up to 6 classes a semester but only 5 if you play a sport which I do. Most seniors who play sports generally take 4 classes plus their sport and this is what I’m doing as well. I’m going to take AP Lit, AP Econ one semester and AP Gov the other semester, and then I was wondering if it would be smart to double up on math and take both pre-calc honors and AP Stats. If i didn’t double up I would take Chem honors and AP Stats. I don’t have any interest in Chem and I already have 3 years of science (Physics, Bio, and APES). I’m hoping to apply as a business admin. major at schools like USC, Cal, Michigan as my top schools along with schools like Wisconsin, Indiana, USD, there is a full list on one of my other posts if it matters. What are your thoughts, should I take two maths or will that hurt my chances and I go with Chem instead.

Thanks!

Anyone??

I would do the AP Stats as it is applicable to your business major and would likely be eligible for college credit at many of your target schools. If Calc AB is an option it is nice to have that out of the way as well as that typically satisfies the math requirement in most business programs - if not just take at college. Good luck.

I would look at the colleges on your list and see if they require 3 lab sciences. APES is not a lab science. My son has taken Honors Chem, Honors Bio and now APES and will take Honors Physics next year (as a senior) since he will need the extra lab science for several colleges on his list.

^ worth checking to be sure - believe APES is a lab science at UC’s and CSU’s but may very well vary from school to school.

@my2caligirls thank you! Planning on Stats and Pre-Calc now to prepare for Calc once I get to college.

@chb088 Thank you!! I looked for the UC’s,USC, and Indiana and I fit the requirements for all 3 systems. Thanks a lot!

Most selective colleges expect one year of each of bio, chem, physics. So, regardless of your interest in chemistry… take it.
Precalc honors will be more rigorous than AP Stats and would be the minimum expected for a business major.
Have you reached level 3 or 4 in a foreign language? If not, complete.
AP Lit, Econ/gov, Honors Chem, Precalc Honors, and a foreign language or another academic class would be the best - 5 academic classes per year are the minimum expected in terms of rigor for the universities you’re aiming for.

@MYOS1634 Thank you!
