Help with the personal perspective essay please

I’m having quite a bit of trouble writing the personal perspective essay:
“The quality of Rice’s academic life and the Residential College System are heavily influenced by the unique life experiences and cultural traditions each student brings. What personal perspective would you contribute to life at Rice?”

Mainly, I’m just not too certain what they mean by personal perspective and what to talk about throughout the essay. I figure that they want to hear something about my life experiences and then tie it into my personal perspective, but like I said I’m not too sure what exactly the latter means.

Also, I started writing about my experience meeting a huge variety of people from school and volunteering and whatnot but I’m having trouble stretching it past like 2 paragraphs, I’m not sure if I should pick something else or stick with a somewhat shorter essay (or if such a subject would even be considered significant enough).
Sorry if these are stupid questions

My daughter is stumped by the same question. She is a straight white female.

Don’t take this too seriously (I’m only a HS sophomore, whoops) but maybe try talking about ECs and how they change your worldview in everyday life and interpersonal relationships (etc., etc.)?

(At least, that’s what I’m going to do. I’m not even gonna write about being gay.)

It’s a very open ended question, write whatever you want to write about. Perhaps: What part of your personality or background do you think would bring something interesting to Rice? Really, write about what you want, this has nothing to do with sexual orientation or race, not sure why that was mentioned. Those factors really don’t make you that unique.

This is an excellent question to just talk about yourself. What makes you tick? In other words, why do you get up every day? There has to be something more to you than just studying and making good grades. Why are you unique? I believe it is the collection of unique experiences, different for everyone, that makes Rice or anywhere else exciting to go to. If we are all alike, Then life would be boring.
