<p>That is sweet of you to help your sister out … why isn’t she the one asking these questions? I ask that because this program will require her to fight for herself and seek answers for herself … she cannot use your help while she’s making a name for herself in a pop music program like USC’s Thornton school. USC’s pop music program is very good, is also very selective, and so you picked a good one. There are several folks that have posted on this site about their son or daughter applying, getting accepted, or attending there. What is your sister’s music background and what year is she planning to attend? More info will help you attract more advice.</p>
<p>For a vocalist you would create a list of songs, the composers and the key in which she sings them. Her private music teacher should help her select her strongest pieces from what they have been working on together and she been performing. </p>
<p>There is opportunity to show some personality to include a few songs that are unexpected. For example, last year my D’s music teacher encouraged her to add some R&B (which he heard her sing) to her jazz rep.</p>
