I took my aleks test and got placed in fundamentals of math. (I know I am stupid)
Is this a remedial class.
I need calc 1 and 2 for my psychology major

Aren’t there modules that can help improve your score?

I improved to pre-cal
Which I wanted to take because I am nor ready for cal lol

Good job!

Have you already taken pre-calculus?

Yes^
I am hoping to internal transfer into cns. I think i need calc to even be accepted? I don’t want to risk failing calc. I mean if i cant pass the test i am obviously not ready.
:(( :(( :(( :(( :((

Oh okay. Have the modules helped? Let me know if I can help with any particular concepts.

Oh, well if the Orientation Advisor says it’s okay to internally transfer without calculus, I think you should be fine.

The modules are freaking helpful. I went from a 43 first try to a 67 second try.

Nice! You’re getting close.

So you took preCal in high school? Did you get a good grade, like at least a B? If yes, keep taking those review modules until you are assessed ready for Calculus. If no, then I think you ought to take preCal over the summer either self study or at a CC. UT math classes are tough for those who come in unprepared. You want to show up for that first day of Calculus ready to go.

So you have to take Calculus to transfer in to CNS?( I am not quite clear on the situation.) You can take it at UT, or if you are nervous about getting a poor grade and not being able to transfer, look into taking it at a CC. There are rules about what classes you can take at a CC instead of UT, but they are pretty clear.

I think I will just do law it was my second job after being a doctor. I don’t think I am cut out for math

It’s too late for me to register at my community college for pre-calc anyways. I got an a average

You should consult your advisor at orientation. Either way, you’ll still have to take a math class, or gain credit for one.
