if you think that Cornell is a superior institution to schools with a 4.4 peer assessment such as dartmouth, brown, and northwestern, ur the fool. Let me guess, it is a better school than Duke and Penn with a 4.5.

Why don't you go and discuss this with all your intellectual (cough) friends (cough) at Northwestern? I'm sure you've already asked them what their SAT scores were, and want better, lol.

indiana boy, i am sure u would do the same, but at indiana, most kids have sat composite scores that dont even add up to the math section of kids at top 15 schools

BUSTED

hahahaha i like this new bbal.

hahaha yeah, the new bball is interesting.

"o, so ur saying that Brown and Rice and JHU are lower than cornell....ookk, ur the fool"

You are going to Northwestern big guy. O well keep being a sad bum. (ps anyone reading this who is going to Northwestern just humor this whole thread because it obviously is NO offense to you at all)

frustrated, frustrated!!!

nobody said superior, i'd say "on par." Face it, those who are in higher education ranked Cornell higher than dartmouth, brown, NU, Duke and Penn. It's not a big enough of a difference for me to say Cornell is better (I consider it on par with those other schools), but you seem to take subtle differences like this into acount. Maybe when they publish "bball's guide to colleges" you can make your own prestige arguments (or, if you can even get into one of these colleges ... hasn't happened yet). Until then, quit making out with your college board SAT score report and go do something constructive ... make a friend (just one will do).

by the way, what's the inspiration for the new screen name? Wasn't Simba a character from the Lion King?

That would mean that the majority of our students got below 400 on both of their sections in the test. And while I would agree with the assessment that the majority of the students at Indiana are mediocre, you're wrong with your assessment. Less than 1% of the kids here scored that low, most being 6'8" with a nice jump shot. Then again, i'd take hot girls and a great basketball team anyday over kids who care about SAT score ranges.

I can honestly see bball dating a girl (though she may look like a man) and then breaking up with her because she scored sub-1400 on the SAT.

Simbajune55/bball (whatever your calling yourself today), your problems may have less to do with the actual schools than with your outlook towards them.

Simbajune. Transferring twice will raise red flags, I believe. You don't want to come across as a malcontent, someone who will be unhappy at whatever law school accepts you. (Although law schools seem to pay less attention to stuff like this than do colleges). You are doing fine in your classwork and will be going to a wonderful, beautiful school in a nice environemnt near a great city. My guess: all you need is to make a few good friends at your new school to make NW a happy environment for you. Take your time and search out compatible people. They are there; you just need to make the effort to find them. Also, pay close attention to your course selection. Try to find professors whose classes you will enjoy as well as score well in.

Listen very carefully to what eli just said- if you can't find satisfaction in schools like Cornell and Northwestern you will come across as a malcontent. (Bball- I thought you went to Rice?? Did you transfer out quickly, or did I misread one of your posts).
Make the most of your situation. Join clubs, make friends and be HAPPY!! You gotta work on that kid. I think the only viable alternative is to transfer back to Cornell only if you think it is better for you than Northwestern. And of course there is no guarantee that Cornell will take you back. If not, I think you have to learn to love Northwestern. A third school in 3 years, is definitely not going to help you when applying to Law School or even when applying for a job. To be continually dissatisfied when going to one of the TOP 15 schools in the country will not sit well with a lot of folk. They will wonder whether the problem is within you and not with the school.
Good luck to you. I really do hope you find what you are looking for.

bball faked his "I'm going to Rice!" comments on his other screen name. He really committed to Northwestern, as evident by his other name praising and defending NW's placement statistics, test scores, and prestige.

Thanks A2- I thought he went to Rice and just decided to lay low after he made a nasty comment about the girls at Rice. You mean he dissed the Rice girls without even going there?? Boy, that's real Chutzpah!!
