Future engineering major. i dont have the greatest stats in the world.
gpa:3.0 barely made 25% of my class. SAT arent good either. i didnt really worked hard. Though i always made A’s in my math classes & B’s in science classes.
i have 100%chance of getting into UT Arlington but i want to go somewhere with a good engineering program. Like UT AUSTiN or TEXAS A&M. but i prbly wont get admitted in those schools. I HAVE 2 OPTIONS:

either i can go to UT ARlington(which does have an ok engineering program) or

i can attend a community college for a year and maintain a 3.0gpa and i will be granted assured admission in Texas A&M.

which path should i take or any other available should i take. any advice would be appreciated.

Depends. Do you like UT Arlington? Does it suit your needs? If it really doesn't and you truly think that another school would give you a better education in engineering, then I'd recommend community college first and transfer as a junior (after 2 years of community college -- I haven't seen many, if any, transfer at a year, unless they worked much harder to cover 2 years' worth material in a year).

UT Arlington is alright but c'mon nobody even knows that they have engineering. Its not a well known school. my reason for transferring out after one year from cc is that all i need is atleast 24credits and 3.0 GPA. then i'll be offered assured admisssion to Texas A&M engineering. Also i dont want to stay in a community college for more than one year.
