HELPPPP with loans

Please help me.... I'm freaking out right now...

I already maxed out on Stafford loans, but I'm still $7000 short, which naturally means that I have to borrow from a private lender. The problem here is that most private lenders demand a cosigner (which would naturally be my parents) with a good credit history. The thing is I never have a job before and I have no credit history. My parents do have a job, but they earn low income and they never file for credit history before. Will those lenders hesistate to give me a loan??? If I'm rejected by all the lenders and I'm still $7000 short, what can I do???? I really don't want to give up my spot at my university... What can I do??? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It really sound like you need to consider a lower cost school. What alternative schools do you have?

I can’t change right now, can I??? I mean, I already submitted my deposit. I am going to USC btw… My other choice was UCSD, but I ignored it, so I guess there’s no way of me to go back right now, right??

My absolutely worst worst worst worst worst case alternative is to go to CC for two years. But that would be absolutely dreadful… I mean, CC over USC…

Are your parents willing to cosign? If they are willing, then apply. You might get the loans, you might not. But you can’t know unless you apply.

I’m sorry I don’t any advice in case you’re rejected.

Yea, they are willing to cosign, but I’m just afraid that it won’t help much. The good thing is that I’m a spring admit, so I don’t have to start paying soon right away.

I just applied to a couple of banks and now waiting for their approval. Seriously, this is like ten times worse than waiting for my AP scores to arrive…
