Hi! With only a couple of days before selection day, I’m really struggling with choosing between Hendrix and Rhodes. Basically, I was wondering if anyone else made a decision between these two schools, and what made them choose the school that they did.
Just for FYI, I’m interested in majoring in the Humanities, particularly English. Also, Hendrix’s reputation for excessive drug/alcohol use, but everyone I’ve talked to says that will be the same anywhere. Does anyone else know about this?
Hendrix is quirky and Rhodes is more mainstream. Both have issues with substance abuse but should offer substance - free dorm to guarantee no partying on your floor (you’re free to go and party elsewhere.) Rhodes is larger and more urban. Hendrix has the Odyssey, which is a great program essentially offering funds and support so you canstudy abroad or volunteer abroad, find internships, do research, etc.
hendrix is a hidden gem! (congrats on finding it!)
rhodes is a great place too…I would choose hendrix but I am a quirky person and would fit in better.
p.s. drugs /alcohol are everywhere. and you need not partake! you do not need to go to college to find those type of people. and nobody is going to hogtie you and force you to do drugs. find your niche no matter what school you chose and you will be fine!
