My D is seriously considering Hendrix but she a had mixed review of her visit. She liked the academics and odyssey program, and found the campus to be beautiful. I think she was a bit confused by the alternative lifestyle and wondered how it influences campus life. She has been looking forward to going to college to be a part of clubs, etc. and to meet lots of boys! My question is: does the alternative lifestyle adversely effect the potential heterosexual applicant pool? Please, we are not homophobic just trying to understand our experience and helping her to find the right place for her.

It depends on what your daughter is like... and what she is interested in for college. For me, Hendrix was the best decision I have ever made... Hands Down. I considered Fayetteville because I had a kappa legacy and had a boyfriend already in school up there.. however, when I visited him, it wasn't what I was looking for in a school. I wanted to become more self aware and go to a more intellectual school. Of course, the boys at Hendrix are not the same kind of eye candy as the boys at bigger schools, but there is till plenty of eye candy at Hendrix. I dated several guys on campus, none of which I will marry, but we had good relationships. At hendrix she will be challenged and she will learn a lot, but she will be grateful for all of it. She just needs to determine what she particularly wants in a school!
