All music majors, starting in 2017, will have free tuition at Los Angeles Community College. I don’t know if this will cover out of state and international students, as well - but it would be worth looking into.
http://www.lacitycollege.edu/academic/departments/music/index.html I don’t know much about the program but from their website:
With the establishment of its Commercial Music curriculum in 1946, LA City College became the first college in the nation to offer a degree in jazz. Indeed, numerous important jazz musicians attended LA City College, including Chet Baker, Irving Bush, Eric Dolphy, Bob Florence, Herb Geller, Jerry Goldsmith, Les McCann, Charlie Mingus, Lennie Niehaus, Tommy Oliver, Jack Sheldon, Julius Wechter and Hal Owen.

The Studio Jazz Band has been in existence since 1946 under the direction of Bob MacDonald, Robert Wilkinson, Woodrow James, Don Simpson, Laszlo Cser, Lori Stuntz and Barbara Laronga.

Over the years, the Department gradually expanded its certificates to its current offerings of Instrumental Performer (in either Brass, Guitar, Percussion, Piano, Strings or Woodwinds), Vocal Performer, Orchestrator/Arranger, and Music Technology.

This is great. Thanks for putting it on the forum.

I had Les McCann on my record player for years.

That is cool, it makes me proud to be a fan of his (Herb Alpert)…I keep telling my son to go to UCLA for grad school to have “The Herb Alpert School of Music” on his diploma, but for some reason he doesn’t think that is the reason to go there:)
