Dell Inspirion 600m with a $750 off $1500 or more coupon, if you're going for cheap.

I got my computer a few weeks ago and have been happy with it; it could have a sturdier case or a sligtly less flexy keyboard or an SD memory card reader, but for the price, it's great.

1.8 Ghz Pentium M
14.1" monitor
64 MB Radeon 9000 video card
512 MB RAM
DVD/CD Burner
40 GB Hard Drive (I'm also bringing a desktop so I didn't need a big hard drive, but you can upgrade it to 80 GB)
Wireless a/b/g standards
4 year warranty covering accidental damages
some useless funky remote that I needed to increase the price a dollar to use the coupon I ad that required a $1899 computer

I believe it's 1.2" thick and 5.2 lbs.

After the coupon, a rebate, and upgrading the RAM from 256 MB to 512 MB with crucial.com, it was $1210 and I ordered xp pro and microsoft office 2003 from my school for $15 apiece.

Yea I was lookin into the dell 600m too. Do you know if it has ethernet? That's what my school has and I wanna know how you can add that on.

all laptops will be able to use ethernet. you just need an ethernet cord.

Yes, there is an ethernet port in it. Also, it comes with wireless but you can upgrade the card to make it intel instead of dell (it must be intel to be considered centrino) or so that it's a/b/g compatible instead of just b and g. Chances are the b and g are all you'll need, but double check with your school.

I got a 600m with the 750 off deal. I also got an extra $55 off with some codes i found. Check out what i got:

600m
1.6 Pentium M
14.1" 64MB SXGA (upgraded screen)
60 GB Hard drive
1 GB Ram
Bluetooth Technology
CD Burner/ DVD Rom Combo
Wireless Card

Not bad for $870 shipped huh? You cant beat it for the price. Im sure DELL will have another similar promotion since their fiscal quarter is ending soon. Plus they have been having these $750 nearly weekly for the past month. Take advantage of the next one because it will probably be the last. Go to Slickdeals.net

99.9% (maybe 100) of new computers and laptops have ethernet support built-in. You don't need a card.

I say Dell 600m!

thats what i just got..first i wasnt going to get one at all then i really wanted an apple, but i found the 750 off deal and couldnt not take it..i just got this comp yesterday and am very happy with it :)

same here, apples are too cute. oh well. i will get one when my current laptop is tired-

UCWannabe! $870 shipped!?

That's absolutely amazing! Where did u find these codes to make it go down so much? YOU MUST SHOW ME!

And...Looks like 600m all the way isn't it!? When's the best time to buy a laptop - like when are the best deals? 2 weeks before august ends? 1 week? or will it not matter much bc I need time to "get used" to my laptop before I go to college?

http://edealinfo.com/ has the dell coupon codes, but you can also find them by just googling "Dell Coupon Codes." Dell changes the codes and the exact deals weekly, but they're always cheaper than the regular thing on their website. Earlier there was a discussion about the best time, and I don't think anyone really knew, but I think the current $750 off of $1499 or more is about the best the Dell coupons get.

Buy xp pro and ms office from your school if you can. It's MUCH cheaper that way, and you'll probably want xp pro because it has many more networking capabilities. Also, see if your school provides antivirus software for free.

yes, the best dell coupons i've seen since october (depending on the price range you're getting) are 750 of 1499+, 800 off 1999+, and 35% off 1999+. so if you're below 2000, 750 off 1499 is the best you'll see!

frequently check www.slickdeals.net. Go to the forums and click on hot deals or slick deals.

I know right NOW Dell is having another $750 off laptops over $1499 specific Inspiron laptops 600m, 700m, 2200, and 9300 Notebooks. expiring 7/25 or first 10,000 redemptions. FREE SHIPPING!

Code: PNV5H9JHS57$BX

Check the forum for codes for additional savings. Or google for more dell codes.

Check it out. I dunno if this deal is gonna be as good as the last though. Some people on the slickdeals forum said they had raised prices. I dunno though. Check it out!!

this deal isnt that bad. I just configured this laptop:

600M
1.6 Pentium M
SXGA+ 32MB
1 GB RAM
60 GB HD
DVD RW/ CD RW

for $826 SHIPPED!!!!!

not bad at all. This may be better than the deal that I got. The only thing different is i got 64MB video and Bluetooth, but this config has a DVD RW/CD RW.

Thanks! Sounds good.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I just checked dell and now its $500 of $1399 or more. UGH. Now i have to wait LOOOOOOOOOONGER. In the mean time, I was checkin out toshiba and gateway. they seem to be priced pretty well - around the low $1000's. But they're at 6 lbs for a 15.4" - that's the only prob. Man you can't get super light with big screen.

???????? did you go to www.dell.com/save750 ?

My self and my aunt had major problems with dell, both with products and customer service. So, as an extremely early christmas present, my dad bought me the Hewlett Packard Special Edition L2000, which is based on the Lance Armstrong Foundation. It's a 14" and very light compared to my dad's 15.4". The reccomended version (which can be completely customized) has an 80 gb rpm hardrive, DVD+/-RW/R & CD-RW Combo w/Double Layer Support, and a AMD Turion64 Processor (I think its one of the latest technologies to come out)- price: $1,049. Plus it has free shipping. I absolutely love mine. Check it out at:

"We do appreciate your business however we regret the fact that at this time, the limited quantity available for the "Save $750 off select Inspirons over $1499" offer has been sold out. "

Sigh...I'll wait.

Thanks Addicted, I'll look into that!
