hey! chance me please:) it will only take a second and it will make my day

Im in the middle of my junior year at a public school in north carolina and I'm trying to grasp what my chances are at top tier schools.

My SAT score is low only taken once 1640 planning to retake in march as well as taking the ACT soon

My GPA is a UW 3.9 W 4.4, i believe the reports havent come out yet thats my best guess I have taken all honors classes and will have 3 APs end of junior year.

Im editor of the yearbook, played soccer for 9 years on school teams, club teams and recreational teams I have actively volunteered for the past 5 years and have played an important role in starting a program to feed needy children

I am in the process of choosing schools to visit heres my list:
Furman
UNC
Wake Forest
Elon
Davidson
Emory
Vanderbilt
Johns Hopkins
Tulane
University of Richmond
UVA

Im open to any suggestions, are any of my choices unattainable? safeties? any other ideas? cost isn't a priority I can deal with that later I just want the best education that I can get. Also what should I try to get my SAT score up to? I took it the first time w/o really studying or preparing so hopefully i will see a major improvement Thanks

Assuming you can get above 2000, preferably 2100, I would say UNC and Wake Forest are quite possible. Don’t know about the rest.

Sorry, I don’t want to sound harsh but a 1640 is very low for Johns Hopkins, Emory, and Vanderbilt. Try to get 2100+.

1640 is really low for basically all of those schools but if you can bring it up at least 300-400 points, you might be okay. You have time to prep so that’ll make all the difference. Also, add some safeties. Good luck!
