anyone know around how many people apply to UMICH each year?

and about how many get accepted?

I know that roughly 50% get accepted.

It changes annually. For the last 3 years, Michigan's applicant pool has increased by roughly 10% annually and Michigan's acceptance rate has dropped steadily from over 60% to under 50%. I expect at least 27,000 applicants this year, which should mean an accetance rate of 45%.

But if Michigan manages to beat Ohio State on the 18th of November, I would not be surprised if Michigan's applicant pool shatters the 30,000 level this year, which would mean an acceptance rate under 40%. Anything can happen in the admissions game.

By time Mich beats OSU, it will be too late for may of those applicants to have a spot, so they may all be rejected, lowering admission rates even more. They would decide to apply November 18, but by time they get recs, transcripts, scores, and even the app sent, it is mid December.

To answer the OP's question, about half the kids who apply get in and about half who get in go. So 25% of applicants actually go to Michigan.
