Hey Look Another Chance Post... (RD)

Hey guys I know "chance me" posts are the worst, but there must be some of you out there who love it and I would really love your opinions I have already submitted my Regular Decision application

Strengths: Near top of the class, community service, extracurriculars, no one with higher stats applying as of now from my school (possibly only applicant in RD, 1 already was rejected in ED... i think)
Weaknesses: Focused on school not sports and I live in an area not particularly extremely diverse, no hooks, relatively low SATs, last quarter I got a B- in gym (lowest grade ever in a CP1 course, and second lowest grade overall [C- in US History Sophomore year- hardest teacher in high school]) because I was sick and the teacher didn't care (next quarter I will get an A though)

Please let me know! I am freaking out because I love JHU SO MUCH!!!

Your ACT score is a 32, not a 31.

Yes however those are my best scores, I took it twice. The first I got a 34 in math 24 in reading and 30 in science… second I went up in everything but science I went down to 27… and I only sent the second score because each one is $10 so that’s a lot more per school for them to just see a 30 in science… but I still reported it on the common app.

Anyways, what do you guys think are my chances?

In the ED pool you would have a much better chance.
In the RD pool, your scores are on the low side, but you know this.
RD admit ratio is about 18%, I have to think your chances are pretty close to that, about 1 in 6.

Any other opinions?

I think you’re okay. My stats were similar to yours and I got in ED, although there are obviously other factors to consider than that (you’re male and I’m female, financial bracket, number of applicants per state, etc.), so I can’t give you anything definite. Plus during RD, you only have about a 20% chance versus ED with a 40% chance. So I’ll say you have a good shot, but don’t get cocky.

Watch the essays. After three tutors, it doesn’t always scream “you” anymore. That’s why I didn’t let people change my topic too much or make major edits.
