Oh, and the schools

UC Berkeley
UC LA
UC San Diego
UC Santa Barbara
Harvard (single choice early action)
Yale
Duke

You will certainly get into Cal UCLA and SD. Duke is a match. Harvard and Yale are slight reaches. Congrats and good luck!

StuffYouNeverUse:

UCB/UCLA: Safe Match
UCSD: Safety
UCSB: Super Safety

Thanks you guys :)

Do I have to list the AP English score in the applications?

not if you didn't report it to the schools.

Great chances. Have you considered the finances? If you need aid or want merit aid, maybe you should apply to a couple more top private schools. If you are very low income or can afford all of these places, don't worry, you are fine with the list you have.

Thanks for the advice, I think I will apply to more private schools. My family is really poor and if I got into Yale or Harvard, they'd be free. The state schools, though I would receive financial aid, would still be a heavy burden for me.

Do all top private schools offer free rides like Harvard and Yale?

thanks

well, weak ECs, but certainly competitive scores for a hispanic applicant. i say you are in for H and Y

well, weak ECs

Yeah, my EC's are really bothering me. I think I will dedicate one of my short essays to one of my EC's (I'm only done with the main essay and one of the short ones). I think I'll write it about tutoring. . .

Thanks for replying.

Go ahead and report the english AP score--colleges might see that you took the class but didn't report the score and assume you got a 1. Besides, a 750 in Literature and a 34 on the ACT should assuage any misgivings about your verbal ability.

Add some of the top LACs to your list. Maybe Amherst and Williams, possibly Swarthmore. Rice would be a good match school. Maybe Dartmouth too.

Nah, I can't see myself at a college smaller than my current high school.

As far as adding Rice and Dartmouth, I will definetely consider that.
