Hey Philosophy Majors that applied for Fall 2006

Hey you Philosophy addicts, I was wondering which schools you applied to, what type of philosophy are you into, and your transfer gpa, here's mine.

Berkeley
UCLA
UCSD

Ethics, and Political

3.76

hey!

nice thread idea :)

schools:
harvard
columbia
yale
stanford
upenn
cornell
I'd like to find more schools of a similar calibre that also have international transfer financial aid... but I haven't found too many. and ideas?

4.0+ via LSAC conversion

Hey nice group of schools have you looked into Brown, Dartmouth, Rice, Wash U, and Northwestern?

hey,

brown and dartmouth dont offer transfer finaid for canadians :( neither does duke. i don't know anything about rice, wash u or northwestern other than by name... the ones on my list are there because i either worked with people who go or teach there, or visited the campus and sat in on classes = really liked it! :) i keep getting people telling me to apply to johns hopkins, but i thought that was a primarily sciences-strong school.

Hey all:)

Double Major: Political Science and Philosophy
Main Concentration: Political Theory and Ethics
Prospective Universities: Georgetown, UPenn, UNC Chapel Hill, Harvard.

Impressive list of schools, and impressive gpa. Good luck :)

What about LAC's? wouldn't they offer international transfer financial aid???

Also what is the LSAC conversion?? is that for your law school gpa??? please explain.

damn...you philosophy majors are impressive.

Georgetown

Advanced logic, epistemology, normative ethics, game-theory, decision-theory, metaphysics, jurisprudence, philosophy of science, and philosophy of physics.

:D

I think nspeds will go on to become College Confidential's general counsel, hah.

HAHAHAHAH to gabe's comment...Perhaps he will. We should host elections.

Add philosophy of biology to that list.

hey Nspeds

Out of those areas of study, what do you plan on studying for a masters or your doctorate

The problem is that those those disciplines are not wholly separate; advancing in each of them contributes to advancement in my overarching goal. I plan to study more carefully a view of ethics that incorporates Kantian practical philosophy yet heeds the issues posed by decision-theory and evolution.

I envy you Philosophy majors.
