background: 50% syrian (3rd gen), 50% white, female, lived in mexico for 3yrs
cumulative gpa: 3.692

extracurriculars: heavily involved in theatre & church volunteer/youth group; many leadership roles held; organized a schoolwide walkout against gun violence; ballet; nhs
extenuating circumstances: mental illness struggles w medication mistakes, letter of explanation submitted (severe depression, anxiety, traumatic car accident)
my interview went extremely well, and he seemed to really like me and what i had to say. i’m an extremely passionate person, and it shows in what i do.
i’m a good writer, and was extremely proud of my essays. for the sfs essay, i wrote about the rwandan genocide, the ongoing genocide in rwanda, and the lack of response and aid from the global community, specifically the UN. for my identity essay, i wrote primarily about being middle eastern in today’s society, as well as being a girl and a teenager, and how no one word or one page paper can truly encapsulate a person’s identity.
