Hey i was just wondering what are my chances of getting admitted into Rutgers Pharmacy for their 6 yr pharm.d degree. My guidance counselor said i have a "solid" chance but i'm just looking for more opinions.

My school does weighted GPAs. My gpa at the end of sophomore year was a 3.999 weighted. at the end of junior year, it was a weighted 3.952 i think.
if it were unweighted it would be around 3.2-3.3ish. i'm ranked around the top 25% out of a class that has nearly 300 students in a pretty competitive school in bergen county, NJ.

BOARD SCORES
sat math 760

thats pretty much it. my guidance counselor rutgers pharm was a solid choice but idk. i'm pretty skeptical of our schools counselors so i'm just looking for more opinions. PLEASE BE AS HARSH AS YOU WANT!!! any opinions are appreciated! thanks!

besides rutgers pharm how would you think i'd do at business schools? i always wanted to do business but the first year salary of pharmacy made me change. what chances do i have at these schools?

business -
nyu stern, ut-austin, USC, UIUC, Indiana

pharmacy -
rutgers duh, ut-austin, florida, illinois-chicago, USC, UCSF

be as harsh as you want!!! please!

Rutgers instate is easy. You'll be fine getting in, even for pharmacy.

The hell if I'm gonna comment on the rest =/

thanks man!!!! i hope i can get into pharm
but anyone else have opinions??? all are welcome!

umm ok... here's the thing 1st year pharmacy is > than first year buisness.. but add 5 more years and buisness is > than pharmacy. MBA's can take you further than pharmacy. I wanted to do pharmacy too, but changed my mind because of the MBA. look into it.

UCSF doesn't have an undergraduate school.

yea i agree with that time thing but i'm pretty lazy = / i just wanna do the 6 years and get it over with. with MBA you need undergrad then soem work experience then go back to school for mba. idk if i really wanna do that so thats why i picked pharm. 6 yrs and im done lol. so what do you think of my chances at those pharm and business schools?

RUTGERS? LOL KEEP DREAMING...YOUR COUNSELOR IS UNRELIABLE.
You're too stupid to get into any of the colleges you listed you failure...

Anyone agree?

wait seriously? yo what schools should i apply to that are good at pharm? i REALLY wanna go to rutgers i wanna apply 2nd week of september and not take any more tests and slack off at school = / please more chances! be as harsh as you want!!!

I'm gonna reiterate this yet again: instate Rutgers = win. no questions asked, especially with your decent stats.

For schools that are good at pharmacy you won't make it...stop trying and look for a community college.

No offense you are stupid and suck at life but fine I'll admit that you are OK at tennis...

Enderkin you are so stupid...my friend from NJ with a 1.2/4.0 with 1230/2400 SAT scores got rejected from Rutgers? Instate = not win all the time

Newbie~ you're IN at Rutgers, for all practical purposes. as a new CC member you will quickly learn to take in what makes sense to you, and throw out the rest! good luck!

i am pro ar eyou sure?? i am getting conflicting opinions = / idk who to listen to. one guy tells me i have a good shot, the other tells me to go to a community college... my dad says if i go to community college, he will take away my WoW account which is at lvl 70.

hey thanks for the info collegemom! its really nice to get a reliable chance : ] i hope more ppl chance me!

just listen to me

Newbie, IAMPRO is trolling, don't worry. There are many on these forums because of the high pressure that a lot of people are under.

IAMPRO, your 'friend' got pwned by Rutgers because he failed school. That's about it. That's about the only requirement for admission into Rutgers instate; graduation. 1.2 is the retarded man's dumb, dude. Damn, man.

lmao, obviously a "1.2/4.0 with 1230/2400 SAT" is not going to get into Rutgers but I agree with enderkin...Rutgers = lock for the OP.

yo idk about that instate thing b/c i heard rutgers pharm was as selective as the ivies. idk but thats what i've been hearing. i try to look for rutgers stats but they're so weird, they dont post any of that average gpa or median sat score or w/e. i see some rutgers regular stats but i dont think those apply to pharm

talk to some actual pharmacists about this. most here are telling you you've got a good shot...why are you worrying so much?

"i heard rutgers pharm was as selective as the ivies."

-no...not true

You can get in. It is NOT comparable to an Ivy, although it is most definitely respectable.

This is pretty much the only reason you thank God you live in NJ right now.
