"Hidden gems" of computer science

We all know about Caltech, Berkeley, MIT, etc.... , but what colleges get overlooked when choosing a school with a good CS program?

Awesomo, some I would look at would be WPI (MA), Clarkson (NY) and Case Western (OH).

I would also add RPI (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) to that list, as well as Purdue and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champlaign.

An an east coaster who goes to college in the midwest, I know RPI as a school for kids with MIT smarts and not terrific grades. A lot of my math/science oriented friends had problems turning down schools like UIUC and Purdue, where they knew the quality of education was solid.

University of Nebraska - Lincoln's J.D. Edwards Honors Program in Computer Science and Business Management

Rensselaer is definitely one on the rise. Building a really solid reputation.
UVa's Computer Science program is quite underrated.

University of Washington

^Not really a hidden gem is it? Well, maybe for people on the east coast ...

Santa Clara University. UC Irvine, UCSD.

I second UC Irvine. University of Nebraska is a JOKE.

I suggest you look at the actual program before dismissing it.

I second Clarkson and RPI.
