Hiding SAT Scores

Right, so I've three decent SAT II scores but completely messed up my French subject test (660, eep). Since I don't plan to retake, need I list this score on the Yale application, or can I just leave it off? (Does Yale look at the official score report as a way to confirm the scores listed on the app, or do they take notice of all scores on the score report?)

Thanks

You don't have to list it. There's no way to know if they (the adcoms) will see the official score report or not. Some hs counselors say adcoms don't see it because they just have the top three scores entered on the front of the app. My feeling is that they may see it, but it really doesn't matter because you have three good scores, and that's what they will pay attention to. You're good! Besides, I think that French would not be something they would look at too critically, in any case.

You cannot "hide" this SAT II score, because Yale requires you to submit official score reports from the College Board and doesn't just accept your word or the scores listed on your transcript. Unlike with the ACT, the College Board report lists ALL scores of all attempts at ANY type SAT test. The good news is that you do not need to hide it. Yale reports that they take the top 2 or 3 scores on ANY of the SAT IIs you take. If you have 3 good scores, they won't even count your French score. Relax!
