Can a student with high GPA (unweighted - 4.0, weighted - 4.3; SAT - 2200+)
but with weak extracurricular activities (no sports, no leadership position, a few community service, member of several clubs .. a few summer activities (one internship, mission tripes.. )
get into top colleges like Washing University in St.Louis, Rice, Vanderbilt...?

I looked into some decision posts but there weren't many who got in with
weak extracurricular activities ... so assuming good essays and recommendation letter,
is there a chance for those schools??

Most (but not all schools) look at GPA then SAT then EC / Leadership, so unless you come off as shallow you should be OK. But if you had less a than stellar GPA, or lower SAT, or were interested in only schools that care about community - then you would be toast…

But I thought my extracurricular activities were not even considered average compared to the students who were accepted at those schools … But thanks for the advice!!!

Extracurriculars aren’t the most important thing in admissions. In my opinion, it’s less important than your GPA, SAT, and essay, but of course, this depends from school to school and applicant to applicant. Membership in several clubs is almost meaningless, and community service hours have become the norm rather than the exception. For WUSTL, Rice, and Vanderbilt, which are all top tier universities, it’ll be somewhat difficult to get admitted with weak ECs, but with an excellent essay and some impressive recommendations, you should be able to do it. For the top four ivies, stanford, MIT, etc. I wouldn’t count on getting in without some spectacular ECs.

My numbers were almost exactly the same as yours and my ECs were simply pathetic (I wasn’t in any clubs and never did anything significant in the summer), but I got into Georgetown, so it’s not impossible.

Thanks
Your post gives me some hope for those schools
Yeah I figured ivies would be tough to get in with my weak ecs
Hopefully my essays will earn me a way into the college
Thanks!

I don’t think you have that much to worry about. Schools that place emphasis on ECs are usually those that are even more selective (Ivies). I believe academic stats are most important at those schools to which you are applying.

Hmm so there is some hope haha Thanks!! @swedetous
Thanks i dont know how accurate your predictions are but i hope they are right and hope you get into the colleges you want:)
Anyone who got into those schools with weak ECs??
