I plan to get a degree in environmental science, biology or another natural resource field. Are there any jobs in these fields that pay well, say 100K or more? I know many people go into these jobs because they love it, not because of the money, but i really enjoy traveling too, and would especially like to travel abroad. I’ve heard from some people that these degrees are becoming more desirable for “green” jobs and that they are paying better. Is this true?
Just a random thought off the top of my head, but perhaps something that ties in solar energy to natural resources or environmental science?
Solar or alternative energy methods are up and coming and expect there to be more growth with the influx of electric vehicles and carbon reduction goals.
Best of luck!
For good paying Environmental jobs, years of experience will count. I would look into Environmental Engineering with an emphasis in Air or Water quality.
This is not an exceptionally high paying field. An advanced degree, usually a PhD is required to do the better jobs in the field as well.
You can go to law school afterwards and become a lawyer focused on environmental law. You can also minor in business or get an MBA afterward, and pursue a corporate position at a global company in charge of “sustainability” programs. You could pursue a political/government position relating to the environment. You can start your own business relating to the environment, which could be something tech related or offer other types of products or services. You can become a publisher, TV executive or documentary filmmaker covering environmental science topics. You could obtain a PhD and become a professor and/or consultant relating to environmental science. The opportunities are only limited by your imagination.
