Hi...I applied to High Point Early Action so I should be getting my response by December 10th hopefully. I know I loved it when I visited but I am a little nervous...not just about getting in but the possibility of actually going there. I hear a lot of rumors about the school being all about appearances and amazing to the visitors but when you actually GO to the school....it sucks. I am fully aware the surrounding city isn't amazing but I hear the campus it self is self-contained. I was just wondering how people's experiences have been or if they know anyone who likes/dislikes the school. Also I am not a crazy partier or drinker but I do like to have fun and I do it sometimes. I just want to make sure the school has a social scene...

The school is just as wonderful as it’s outward appearance according to my Freshman son and his friends. He loves it there. The classes are small so he feels that his teachers know and care about him. The theme of Orientation was “Welcome Home” and he said that he knows why because he has felt at home since he moved in last August. As you said, the area around the school isn’t the best but the majority of the activities he attends are on campus (and believe me, there’s no shortage of things to do!) so he’s never bored. Like you, my son enjoys a good social life but is not much into the drinking parties (they do exist there as they do on every college campus).
Good luck with your acceptance. I bet you don’t regret choosing the school!

hey i wouldnt stress it too much. i just got accepted last week ea and am excited to hopefully visit for the scholarship weekend. im not a drinker or huge partier but i do enjoy a good time. i have a feeling i will attend in the fall and i think that we will all find the right crowd =]

You made an account just to bash the school you transferred from?

Uh-oh… There goes your credibility…

Silverstone…You did the right thing by transfering to make your self happy and to find a alternate school which would be a better fit for yourself . To be honest HPU is better off without students with attitudes like yours. HPU is a fine school and is a great fit for many students who attend and have graduated and moved on to successful careers. You sound very immature for your age, and honestly cannot understand why you would post such a rediculous assesment of not only HPU but any school. I wish you luck, and hope that you find what your looking for !!

My D is neither spoiled, rich or a trust fund baby. She is intelligent, compassionate and super excited about moving to her new home at HPU. She is counting down the days. Thankfully silverstone won’t be there. Not every school is a good fit for everyone - better luck at your next school, hope you don’t talk trash about that place.

I wish I could make my son a “trustfund baby”. The school is not cheap so any possibility of a trustfund is gone…BUT the main thing is that he’s extremely happy at HPU and seems to be getting a good education. Sorry you weren’t happy there, silverstone. Better luck at your next school.
