High-Ranking College Suggestions?

Hi!

I’m just wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions in terms of fairly good universities that might be a fit? And would Ivy’s (lower ranking Ivy’s such as Cornell) be too much of a reach? :stuck_out_tongue:
In terms of areas, I quite like North-West and West (NY, NJ, CT, MA).
I’m an international student, and could probably contribute up to 25k a year complete maximum, but would be amazing if it had good scholarships/aid!!
Few Stats:
1520 SAT first try
top 2% of all students in my country (predicted) final ranking
Quite a bit of Extra Curricular’s, can go into more detail if needed
Intended Major: not too sure yet but maybe Chemistry or Languages

Any help would be heaps appreciated!!!

Sorry just realised I can’t geograph: meant to say North-East and East (NY, NJ, CT, MA). :stuck_out_tongue:

At the most prestigious universities, admission rates for international students seem to be about 1/2 to 1/3 their already low (single digit) overall rates. Rates could be especially low for students from certain countries (India, China) or for students with high need. Given that level of competition, and your intended majors (not engineering or business), you might want to consider some liberal arts colleges. Competition from other international students might be a little lower for a top LAC like Middlebury College than it is for the Ivies.

About 70 U.S. colleges claim to meet 100% of demonstrated need. Many of them are LACs.

High-ranking by what source, and category? Or do you simply mean selective, that is, schools at which many students arrive with high academic preparation?

For reaches, you could look into well-funded colleges that would be strong for your academic interests such as Colby, Swarthmore, Hamilton and Bowdoin. Since these schools overlap with Ivies statistically, I’m not suggested you shouldn’t consider Ivies for reaches as well.

I agree as well. Look into Swarthmore, Colgate, Claremont Mckenna, Pomona and Brandeis.
