High school buddies

Last forever?

Yes/No?

Hardly ever

More like college buddies…

^ agreed <hopefully></hopefully>

No… if yes, very few…

I know I will keep up with a few of my friends from high school. I don’t know how long it will last.

that’s so weird to think about…i grew up with most of my friends.

it depends on where you go to high school and what kinds of people are there. ive got friends that i know will be my besties for life, and other people that i’m deleting from my facebook friends as soon as we graduate.

no…

no i dont even talk to many people at school anymore that i used to and im a senior

^Yeah, I pretty much feel alienated from ALMOST everyone…

It depends on the buddy. Some people in my high school I’ve known since the womb, literally. Those people will be my best friends forever, haha.

It depends on the person and the friendship itself. I think - on average - there will be at least one high-school friend you keep.

But there are a bunch of factors involved. My best friend is moving down to Florida (3+ hours from where we live by plane) for college and I doubt we’ll as close after we graduate … we’ll (hopefully) stay in touch but once college starts and we make new friends, the chances of us remaining close friends is slim.

However I do know of a few people in my school who will be attending the same university as some of their friends. Will their friendships last? Probably not will all the new people they will meet and the new experiences they’ll have, but they have a better chance at at least remaining acquaintances with their HS buddies, I suppose.

I think the “lifetime” friends you make are mostly the ones you have at the tail end of your college/educational career (so if you go to law school, it’ll probably be those people who will remain your good friends).

I think it depends a lot on where people normally go educationally in your community and your history. If college is rare in your town, more high school friends will stay together forever. Most people who’ve been friends for the past 18 years won’t stop being friends because of 4 years apart.

I have a select few friends that I know I’ll remain close with after I graduate (or at least I hope so). There are some that I’d like to keep in touch with, but I know we’ll probably be too busy to make the effort. There are others that I know I’ll never see again after graduation (nor do I want to… in most cases).

i’ve had the same best friends since 5th grade, i really don’t see our friendship ending… ever.

I am hoping to keep in touch with my best friend after graduation. HOPING. it will be tough because i’ll be in college and he’ll be in the air force!

i’ve been best friends with 2 girls (sisters) since I ws 4 and they were 3 & 5…we haven’t lived near eachother for about 8 years but it doesnt matter, we’re closer than ever.

& highschool friend-wise? umm i plan to stay in contact with one of them, ill see how that goes, but i really hope we do.

i just moved to h-d this year but i keep in touch with like 10 ppl from my last school and my new school is full of drama so i dont think ill stay friends with alot of them after i graduate this year, maybe one or two

There’s a few I’ll stay close to. Those that I am really close to now (although rarely hang out with) will stay close to me, the majority of others I’ll probably never talk to again.

It can happen though. My mum is still best friends with her bestfriend from high school. They only knew each other for three years before her best friend moved from Mich to Minnesota, but they stayed close. We still visit every year and she has a daughter my age that I’m really close to, so it can happen.

stay close with about 7, for the rest of them- well thats what facebook is for.
