High School Class of 2013

My principal goes to every sports game of every sport for the school. He competes during the pep rally and he’s really RA RA plus he knows all 1000 of us (in my campus, we have 2 with a total of 4000 kids) by name. He’s freaking amazing

@Elleya, My school does not do fair as which you described in your post. However they do EC fairs and that’s pretty much it. Teachers in my school is pretty much callus and they don’t want to let loose. I mean the only teacher that would get “footloose” (great movie btw but The Breakfest Club is my favorite of all time (random)) was my American History teacher. She was the best. For example she played 80s music which I loved like Journey during and after class. No other teacher does that in my school. She was pretty fun :).

We’re getting a new stricter principal this year. Thankfully she’s keeping our dress code. (At her old school, the kids had to wear only clear backpacks. But that was because they had problems with kids bringing guns and knives to school.) I’m kind of anxious to see what kind of changes she makes.

Clear book bags geshhh thats an invasion of privacy.

I didn’t even know they made clear backpacks, that doesn’t sound completely horrible though. Except, it would be to be like plastic material which would be annoying because I don’t think Jansport makes knitted clear bags lol

Clear… or mesh? It was mesh at my siblings’ old school.

Anyway, August 20th, yo (SC). I feel like my experience is gonna be just like Niquii’s :P

Clear. It’s like a plastic material of some sort.

My teachers are definitely like that, in terms of going to events and having bonds with their students. Some friends and I have gone out to dinner with my Latin teacher a few times and some went to get sushi with my AP World teacher because he’s really into Asian culture. I also went to my APUSH teacher’s condo twice last year lol (he’s my track coach and there were only a few of us competing at a meet in the city so he just brought us back to his house for pizza after. It was like a weird bachelor’s pad basically)

Also I follow most of my teachers on twitter and vice versa. My HS is really into social media.

Our principal, who was the man, got promoted to superintendent so now the asst. principal is taking over. Laaaame.

Lol you school sounds great to be in! It seems like your school just have to best teachers!

I have a job interview at 3:15!!! =))))

Conjraz and Good Luck :)!

@msteiny1212; BRB TRANSFERRIN’. Though I always thought that would be where i’d draw the line, we’re not allowed to add teachers on FB but since they started giving underclassmen iPads I think that’s changing a lot. The AP Bio classes have a group with a teacher and her profile is totally public and she chats with them a lot (and she’s my A&P teacher, woo!) A few of my friends follow teachers on Twitter but naw, we don’t get to go to their houses and stuff. That might be a bit creepy to me.

I remember one time this past winter where it was snowing, but was so cold and windy that I literally had no way of getting home. One of my teachers wanted to give me a ride but she’s not allowed to so I was pretty much SOL (but luckily my mom was on her way home and picked me up later).

Also, a student and a teacher can’t be alone in a room with the door closed and the lights off. It really sucks for my WH teacher and I, we like to study/work together in her classroom and she prefers it that way because people are less likely to bother her, but meh, I can understand that one.

And msteiny, our principal got promoted to superintendent, our VP went to be principal at the MS, and we got a new principal/VP. God, that is still so creepy considering how close we are. You sure we don’t live in the same town?

@Rachel i’m a little late, but I hope it went well! I have one Tuesday at 1:30…a little nervous, but I think i’ll be okay.

Haha, yeah most of our teachers are pretty chill. Key word: most

@Elleya: That’s really weird haha. You guys got iPads too? Copycats… ;)

wow, I wish I had teachers like that.

Thanks! =) I think it did go well. She pretty much only asked when I could work and I was very flexible about it (anytime after school and anytime during the weekends). She said she has 1 more interview to do, so I don’t know. I hope I get it

I know this is a bad thing, but I couldn’t really think of any questions to ask because she covered all of my questions :|

Have any New Yorkers in here visited Binghamton?

I’m going up there tomorrow.

@Yankees, let me know what you think of it please :stuck_out_tongue: I’m probably going to tour it later on, but it’s a cheap option.
And I had orientation today for my job(which I got interviewed Monday for), and suprisingly they said i’m starting tomorrow at 4… Slightly nervous, but I got put on gift shop with one of my friends that works there so it should be fun haha

ME!!! But am in the NYC area.

Ooh yeah, tell me how Binghamton is. I’m considering that one as well.

@my mass bro/sis; The plot thickens…

Gesh Lol reading my comment I should have read Yankees statement thoroughly thought he said who is a new Yorker :/-__________-.
