High School Class of 2013

^George Washington and NYU use the Common App! NYU is Common App only!

Oops about NYU but whatever.

I start school Wednesday the 5th of September, and then the 7th (Friday) we have our senior retreat, which sounds like a day of relaxing, but is really a day where we do mock college interviews and talk about applications and stuff.

^^ Binghamton uses the common app…?

Bing uses SUNY or Common App.

OMG this JK Rowling thing is so exciting.

I was never really a huge fan of the Harry Potter series.

Well you can go kill yourself.

It’s on a Tuesday night so if I get tickets I’ll have to miss some school the next day xD

That was rude. :(

It’s rude to say you don’t like Harry Potter </3

You guys, I have a question. We got our schedules today, and I’m fine with most of it except one part. I have Calculus BC next semester, and I’m considering changing it to AP Euro. I’m honestly only doing this so that I can have the same schedule as a couple of my friends, and Euro will be considerably easier than BC. They all really want me to make the change, and I sort of want to also. I’m still taking Calculus AB this year (it’s a requirement before BC at my school, so it’s already on my schedule) and I took AP Stat last year as a Junior. What do y’all think?

@Jazzii: Really? The only non-Common App school that hasn’t posted an application yet for me is MIT. Maryland and Rutgers are both up. Even all of the additions to the common app are up. I could finish my application for a lot of places if I wanted, if I had my class rank and GPA, anyway.
@jonnathan: What is more of an interest to you, history or math? If it’s a tie, then go with Euro, just because I think having friends in the class will make it somewhat better. Part of the reason I’m taking AP Economics.

@FastNeutrino: Honestly, math is probably a bit more interesting to me, but I’m all for History being the easier subject. I think I will just go ahead and do Euro. The teacher and class seem better anyway. Thanks!

The ‘motto’ of my senior class is:

So Fresh
So Clean
2013.

Kill me now. Who the heck came up with this crap? In other news, there’s a chance I might become the school co-op for the IT guy (i.e. I might get a job!)

^That’s my class’s motto too…

I didn’t know people had mottos.

@Astro: You wouldn’t happen to live in South Carolina, wouldja? hehe

We had a senior class meeting today and 280 of them (out of 500) aren’t on track to graduate (meaning they don’t have a 2.0, haven’t passed the FCRAP, and/or haven’t done 20 hours of community service). Somehow it doesn’t surprise me. They spent 2/3 of the meeting reviewing the same rules they’ve had since freshman year. People were actually surprised by them. facepalm

Your school would say statistics like that out loud? That’s bold.

Yep. I think she was trying to get us to realize how serious it is. The principal doesn’t want kids freaking out in May when they realize they can’t graduate. She doesn’t want them to say they didn’t know (she reviewed everything needed to graduate).

Apparently in my school each grade is having our own little pep rally thing in the second week of school. I’m sure my principal’s going to say the usual “college college college like oh my god you should all be in 6 AP classes collegeeeeeeee” even though each year 95% of graduates go to the local college with a 100% acceptance rate.
