High School Class of 2013

It always amazes me to hear the different policies at different schools…no phones at lunch, no leaving the lunch room, no phones between classes? Shoot. Makes my school sound much better now.
Our lines are out of control, though. I don’t understand, we learned about lines in like kindergarten.

20 min lunch??? Shoot me now lulz

We get 55min for lunch, and then back to classrooms, where we have a 10 minute break to do “whatever we want”…

And we have quite a few restaurants to choose from near the school too… Willy’s, Chipotle (burrito joints), Zaxby’s, Wendy’s and Mickey Ds, Papa John’s, Little Ceasar, Publix (a supermarket), along with many sitdown and take-out restaurants (Chinese, Italian, American, etc.)… all within 15 mins of the school. We’ve got many options… Pretty neat.

^That’s awesome. We get… Chicken. Everyday. I’m sure there are other things in the long lines but the shortest ones have chicken and chips/cookies. I eat out of the vending machines. If I get a chance, I pack lunch. Lunch is 25 mins.

At my private middle school we got lunch delivered everyday from different restaurants. (Bagel Boyz, Italian restaurant, Tropical Smoothie, and 2 others that I can’t remember.)

55 mins is outrageous!!!
10 mins break is outrageous. Subtract from that and you should be leaving earlier.

I really wish my school have open campus lunches for upperclassmen. We’re like 3 blocks from Little Caesars ($5 pizza pretty much ready too) and godfathers pizza (more expensive but still good) and dairy queen. If we had more time (we got 35 mins lunches), people will be driving to shopping area and eating at restaurants there= we got McD, Wedny, Panda Express, White Castle, KFC, Popeyes, Red Lobster, Culver, Chipolite, baker square, Denny, Chili’s, Buffula wild wings, applebees, Fridays, Burger King, Long John silver (wow I’m just realizing this too), Wendy’s, Chick-Fil-A, Taco Bell, Chinese buffets and Golden Coral all within 15 minute radius of my school. Omg I’m so hungry I name every restaurants near my school…

The good foods at my schools are a grade of “B+” they’re good but it the same thing (on a 2 week period sometime 1 week repeats). Pizza Stuffed Bosco stick and Cheese Bosco sticks are the best one, follow by Hot wings (my school’s mainly black). But they don’t sevred it everyday and sometime it’s “recooked”. Still we got good cookies, slushie, yogurt (acutally it more ice cream not yogurt), ICE drinks, gatorade and some chips and pop tart so it isn;t all bad.

Oh wow rachel, at my school we have a line that serve pizza related food everyday (pizza puff are disgusting). The long line is like your lmao people don’t know what it is. Though there is a sign on the wall and you could find lunch menu during announcements.

Sorry for double post.

The lounge was just a room for seniors to chill in during free periods. I think it had a TV, a pool table, and some couches. But of course they did away with it.

Our food really sucks too. I usually just get nachos and cheese because it seems like a step up from the main meal. At least the nachos come with yogurt.

yeah, i’ve never heard of most of those places.

for us, every day there is pizza to CHOOSE. except on friday, when the meal is pizza.
it’s admittedly fancy, because on any day (except friday) you can pick a salad from the salad bar, get a sandwich made, pick the main entree, or pick pizza.

and oh my, my freshman year they had free slushie samples and at first we were like “wow, this was a cool treat!” and then the dude was like, “yeeeeah, we’re installin’ some slushie machines next week!” and we were like “LOL U TROLLING US POOR LITTLE FRESHMAN”

so we have slushies.

some of the main entrees are really good, most are okay, the pizza is pretty good (I missed stuffed crust though ;~; ) and it seems like the salads are good (don’t like salad).

during break they serve breakfast food as well, little muffins, bagels, and breakfast sandwiches. pretty good but I knew girls who bought them every day and was damn, girl do you know how much money that is costing you and damn that is a lot of calories.

$3 for lunch and $1.50 for breakfast food, cringe.

That feel when my school doesn’t let us leave. Ever.

That feel when there’s nothing but fast food and pizza places within 10 minutes of the school anyway. The nearest legit restaurants and good places are all 15+ minutes from my school, so the drive there and back would practically take up the entire period.

55 minute lunch period? what is this I don’t even

Seniors don’t get any extra benefits at my school. Except we get to leave early or come in late if we have a study hall 1st or 8th period.

I haven’t bought lunch since elementary school. I just sit there eating my peanut butter and banana sandwich and an apple while my classmates eat curly fries, pizza and other horrible things.

And we can’t ever leave even though the mall (which has every restaurant ever) and a bunch of other places are pretty close by. I think we get like 25 minutes for lunch, which is about perfect I think.

:| You guys have awesome food choices/options. I’m jealous

We have a closed campus, so we can only leave for lunch if we have a free 6th and 7th. I can’t even imagine them ever giving us the freedom to leave during the day. I imagine most kids wouldn’t come back.

(Oh and no phones at lunch and in between classes.)

We can use phones and stuff in class. Our principal’s thinking is that you’ll have to deal with distractions in your adult life, so kids should learn when to put away the texting and use distractions in a balanced way.Restricting distractions doesnt solve anything.

Called guidance today & Found out that I will be in school from 9:10 to 1:30 :D. I moved my AP economics to 4th period instead of 8th (so I could leave earlier) so all I know is that I have AP econ 4th period & teens and tots 6th/7th

55min lunch isn’t that bad… it’s more to allow the students to hang out. The school has 4-5 different campuses (I’m at the main one), and we see the other students on a TV during class… during the lunch and break right after, we get to talk to these kids outside of the classroom setting.

I also get to leave early from school… I’m out by 2. :)

Most of our teachers “allow” us to use phones/surf the web during class (we use technology a lot), but we kind of have an unwritten rule against it… You won’t get in trouble for doing those things, but it is frowned upon, esp. by other students. If you are going to do it, you’d better have a good reason.

Wait what kind of school you got to Future?

A private Christian “school”… It’s open to homeschoolers like myself, so I do almost all my work there. I started 2nd semester of 2011… likely stopping after this semester, wanna dual enroll.

Jeez, some of you guys are so lucky. Leaving during lunch? Leaving from school early? That’s like… unheard of in my school. My school is like a dictatorship.
Also, our lunches suck. They’re trying to make it healthier, so they got a salad bar, yet the pizza looks as if they just dumped a truckload of grease on it. I got the pizza once, and it took two napkins to soak up all the grease.

You want to know what the first day of school lunch is? Hot dogs. Hot. Dogs.

We have a salad bar but it’s pretty weak.

Elleya, my school’s lunches are closer to $7 for gross food! Try that. That is why I either go off campus, bring a lunch, or just buy goldfish for like 75 cents and eat more at home.

Somos Unidos, the Hispanic heritage club, got a vendor to come every Wednesday to sell delicious tamales for $4. Those were delicious. I hope they do that again.

Although, this year on Wednesdays I have a bunch of frees in a row and I could go pretty much wherever I wanted to eat (or home!).

My school’s lunch is like $3.50? I don’t know because I get reduced lunch prices. It’s pretty good food for breakfast and lunch. We have decent options.

However, we only have 20 minutes to eat. With half of the school eating in your lunch wave, it’s really difficult to get lunch and finish it all within the twenty minutes, all the while trying to catch up with your friends. Most of us take our lunches back to class with us.

my school’s lunches are usually pretty good if you buy the meals, but they almost never have anything vegetarian, and even then the veggie stuff isn’t properly separated from the meat for strict vegetarians such as myself. >_>

there is the salad bar, and you can get some snacks, but they don’t taste too good and are REALLY unhealthy

I want to go to private school so bad… you’re lucky future. at least we’re going to college next year anyways.
