Same here. Basically the only AP offered to sophomores is human geography and comparative government. After that, kids go AP or IB.

I want to take ap physics b next year, but I might not be able to. Here’s my sched:
Alg 2
Ap physics (if not, physical science)
H English
H ss

Band
French 1
Music theory 1

How are you already in Algebra 2?!

^ He (she?) is going to take geometry over the summer, I think.

Oh, I get it now!

Unless you have already taken a physics course, I wouldn’t recommend at all going into AP Physics, and I highly doubt your school would allow you to do so, especially as a freshman.

^^^ I second that.

Do yourself a favor and don’t take AP Physics as a freshman. There’s no need to take it before junior year after you’ve already done bio and chem.

Actually my school gave freshmans an option for either Advanced Placement Physics or Regular. I chose regular because I’d prefer to take it easy freshman year and just get acclimated.

Freshman year you can only take physics then you can move on to biology or other specialized courses.

I didn’t have to take science, though. Science was also an option.

I have found my people… Hello fellow 16ers

Lol. Hello!

AP Physics B isn’t terribly hard from my (older) experience. I haven’t taken the class, but I’ve taken a non-honors/AP Physics class and understand a pretty decent amount of information on the practice tests for AP Physics. I would say it’s feasible. :)

Hello fellow '16ers! Are any of you getting a head start on volunteer hours over the summer? I’m volunteering at my local library and natural science museum.

Okay so this is my schedule:
Honors English
Honors Social Studies
Earth Science (required)
Geometry
French II
AP Human Geography (self studied)
P.S. My school doesn’t offer any APs in 9th grade, and they only offer 2 honors classes and 2 accelerated classes (so I’m taking the most vigorous course load offered)
Please tell me if I should modify anything or take any course over the summer

I’m volunteering at my public library too

Can anyone recommend some of the best AP classes to start self-studying as a freshman. My school doesn’t offer APs before sophomore year, and (as cliched as it sounds) really want to get a head start. Any suggestions?

I’m personally self studying AP Human Geography cause it seems pretty basic and interesting so I’d recommend that

Hmmm, how many posts do u guys think’ll be on here by the time we graduate?
I wonder…

^Probably a lot!!! How are you going to self-study AP Human Geography? I’m so glad there are other 16’ners!!! We should totally keep this thread going for the next four years!!!

Yay, yay, yay!!! I WON’T LET THIS THREAD DIE. I simply won’t allow it. And Foodlover can help me with that!!!

Yup!!! I never even knew so many 16’ners were on CC…hehehehehe:)
