High school class of 2016

It’s been five days since anyone posted - bumping this up from page 4! Anyway how are you guys doing?

Pretty well, especially because it’s break now! :smiley: a week to sleep

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT Class of 2016 =D

Just a had a conference with my teachers today. It went pretty well. In the beginning my mom brought up how one of my “friends” said, “You probably won’t get into college. Maybe you should go to vo-tech.” and I started crying lol. Anyway my gifted teacher said, “If I wasn’t trying to be professional, I’d say she’s a… ;)” I felt a lot better after that, especially since my teachers all said I was a great student. Now I can sit back and enjoy my break.

So how’s everything going for the rest of you?

Our freshman year is like 1/4 done. My classmate and I were talking about how before we know it we will all graduate and go to high school. Now all I can remember is the vitamin c song called friends forever. It’s making me sad

^Dude I know right. My younger sister in eighth grade is about to start high school registration.

Guys, my grades are slipping. :open_mouth: I have an 89.96 (only 0.04 from an A!!) in bio and it’s only going to get worse because I just turned in science fair today.

I am a freshman but I am hs class of 2016?

@Exeter yes you are.

I meant college in my last post not high school

So did a bunch of work for a test and scored poorly on it… Nothing like tutoring once a week for 7 months just to do poorly on a test.

Anyways, did anyone like their homecoming activities?

@ Swinter My grades are dropping too! I have a B+ in English because of one stupid test…can’t wait until our next vocab quiz where I can hopefully boost my grade. My math grade is an A- and I’m pretty sure I just bombed the test I just took.

So one of the teachers in my high school committed suicide last night. I feel like this morning was an entire dream, just seeing some classmates collapse to the ground when they heard she had passed away. I don’t understand why she did it, I mean- she had basically achieved the American Dream.

Oh my god, did she really? That must be devastating for your community. How are you feeling?

^ :frowning: Condolences. The same thing happened to an 8th grade English teacher in my school. I can imagine it would be hard for teachers doing the same thing every year

I’m fine, it was a little hard this morning seeing all of the people that were crying that are normally tough and act like they coul be bullies. I never had her as a teacher since she taught Latin and I take French.

So, how does everyone plan on enjoying their Thanksgiving break?

Thanksgiving is pretty much a boring holiday except no one complains when you eat food. Since most of my extended family aren’t in the US, we don’t really have a big gathering and we go to church really early in the morning. And even though there is so much food, my stomach can only handle so much so they turn into leftovers. I do have Friday off but I’m probably going to sleep the calories off

^ Same. Break is the time to catch up on my sleep! ^^;

by the way, anyone have any good test taking strategies they found useful?

Hi
I’ve been off for a while, exploring CC more

So much work though!
Nobody ever said high school was so tough!

^Totally. So much work! Not too much harder (except biology, grr), but so much work!!

I think the worst part is clawing for a good grade at the end of a quarter/whatever
